Satan Claus Exposed
INTRODUCTION: This message is dedicated to Pastor Maury Davis at the Cornerstone Church in Madison, Tennessee. I had the honor of personally meeting the good pastor at the front row of the Joyce Meyer meeting in Nashville in 2009. We had a pleasant, but brief, conversation. I mentioned one of his TV sermons from a few years earlier. Considering I was the person "going around town" that he referenced - regarding my Satan Claus faxes sent to hundreds of churches in Tennessee - it seemed talking before Christmas would be a good idea.
To start this message, we need to remind folks that an angelic being known as Lucifer once thought he could usurp the authority of His Master. This misguided attempt to overthrow the Creator and Ruler of the universe was a huge mistake. His punishment for acting so stupidly led to expulsion from Heaven - along with billions of stupid angels that hoped he would provide a liberal lifestyle in a new home on Planet Earth.
Lucifer then changed his name to Satan because the old name reminded him of his loser status and the past life he wanted to forget. Since he was beautifully made, with lots of charm and a unique talent as an imitator of the Father Creator, Satan was planning to just go ahead and be "god" in his new home - where he could do all the things he was unable to do in Heaven.
(Note for readers: This is the reason Tennessee Elijah once told people - "God is the Creator; Satan is the imitator." One
brave Christian leader to quote this particular truth was John Hagee during a TV sermon many years ago).
Well, one day God made the first man and woman and then many things started happening that really got Satan upset. He was really angry. Adam's
female companion, made from a part of his body, had a close encounter with the Evil One - and then all hell broke loose. Smart folks who read the Bible can you
tell all about what has been happening throughout history after that fateful day in a garden where a tree grew.
It was many centuries later, according to a variety of mythical stories enhanced by deceptions out of the mind of Satan, that the folk hero we now know as "Satan Claus" came into existence. The forerunner, a regular baby, was born in Lycia, His parents named him Nicholas, and he grew up to be a 4th-century Greek Christian bishop in a place called Myra - now known as Demre in Turkey. Obviously, other scholars of history have many other ideas about how different men in different places might have been the first man to inspire kids to believe Satan was more real than Jesus. Countless impossible-to-prove legends about weird persons, animals, superstitions, gift-givers and gift-takers of long ago have made an impact on the Satan effort to improve his public image. Even though some stories are accepted as fact, knowing the nature of Satan leads us to believe that so-called historic facts can easily be manipulated.
We need to wonder if Satan and his evil angels caused things to happen for reasons not easily detectable - to distort the image of God or distract people so they would forget about His son? Was the birth of Jesus some kind of threat to Satan's desire to build an earthly kingdom?
Some Christians believe that Christmas celebrations have become too commercialized. It seems that most kids care more about getting gifts bought with "money" than doing something to honor God. Even though we have Him to thank for life and all the good things He has given us, it's hard to wrap up those invisible blessings with colorful paper. How would we go about putting intangible Truth, Love, and the Beauty of holiness in a box under a tree with sparkling lights?
Christians like to celebrate Christmas - even though Germanic paganism and folklore indicate that "Odin" - a phony god - might have started part of the propaganda. Coincidentally, the holiday of "Yule" and a reindeer-like horse named "Sleipnir" are only a few reasons kids in those days would put boots next to fireplaces in hope of receiving food, candy or other gifts.
As we know, people travel from one place to another and often bring their customs with them - just like Lucifer did when he came to Planet Earth from Heaven. He took a new name, but was habitually doing all the things he was doing before. Names of angels and people get changed for many different reasons. Before Satan Claus became famous, the original Jolly Man had names like the Word, Jehovah God, Father, and the Holy One.
Down here where Satan the imitator was busy scheming about how best to perform identity theft, he took an interest in real-life names like Odin, Saint Nickolas, De Goede Sint, Father Christmas, Sinterklaas, Tomte, Nisse, and Kris Kringle. In fact, some folks think the "magical elves" is just another name for Satan's angels.
We mature people, who try not to be gullible, need to admit that hundreds of very nice stories have been written about very nice people. Many of them did many good and generous things that might have led to our Satan Claus fantasies. Unfortunately for kids who take fables too seriously, we wouldn't want to ruin their fun by blaming Satan for using deceptions as a way to keep the true God from being honored properly... or would we?
Jesus once said we should die to self in order to serve Him better... and He suggested giving to needy people as a way to show our love for Him. If my memory serves me correctly, there is nothing in holy scripture suggesting we should celebrate the birth of Christ the way it is has been done for generations.
If I had my way, those jolly, red-suited, fat men with white hair and a beard would be feeding the hungry, giving shelter to the homeless, giving comfort to widows, singing Jesus songs for old folks in nursing homes, and reading a Bible to criminals in jail. The idea of using a red-nosed reindeer to fly a sled from house to house would be a better idea for FedEx.
True Christians could give us many suggestions about how to honor the birth of Lord Jesus Christ... once the Deceiver has been publicly exposed as a vile pervert with dishonorable intentions. Anyone or anything devised to distort the reality of our Master must never be tolerated!
I assume that sissy Satan has kept busy messing with the minds of ungodly scholars who incompetently tried to translate the Bible from Greek and Hebrew into all the other languages. The Evil One has probably been altering spiritual perspectives in subtle ways to appease carnal appetites. What other explanation could be given for confused religious leaders who are preaching sermons that were inspired by the doctrines of devils?
There seems to be a pattern to Satan's desire to corrupt the reputation of the Father Creator. We not only have Christmas trees, jingling bells, a jolly bearded wonder, elves and flying reindeer, but we have Easter bunny rabbits, colored eggs, magicians who walk on water, psychics who predict the future, evolutionists, scientists who preach the big bang theory, and aliens coming in from outer space on UFO's. For every original "reality" to be found in Heaven, we now have a cheaply made inferior replica made by Super Satan Man. Thousands of examples can be given to prove that Satan wants to be God. He desperately wants people to serve him instead of Jesus.
Who is more popular in December of each year, Jesus or Satan Claus? Who will be sitting in a temple declaring himself to be God before Armageddon, Jesus or Satan Claus? Who will die ant then come back to life during the tribulation, Jesus or Satan Claus? Who will be sitting on a throne in Jerusalem after Armageddon... Jesus or Satan Claus? If you don't know the answers, ask Pastor Maury Davis... or read your Bible!
